Winter drags on for an eternity, the day diminishes away by the time you arrive home from work or school. Staying stuck indoors makes the season even more unbearable. Instead of having your own concert in the shower, or during a car ride, beat the dreary weather and boredom with a live show.

Chicago is a hub for live music, from the underground scene to the popular mainstream artists. Concerts allow for a fun and freeing experience with friends, or even by yourself.

Here are a few shows you should end your winter season with a bang.

February 14 –

Duo Tall Heights takes on Beat Kitchen with their relaxed folk sound. A night of swaying with your eyes closed is in your future.

February 16 –

KPOP boy group VAV makes their way to Concord Music Hall. Their title tracks each provide new sides of the group making for a night full of choreography, the occasional ballad, and hands in the air.

February 17 –

Electric Guest’s synth-pop style that suits a night-time car ride will fill the walls of Metro. Going to their show will have the bass rattling your bones, head-bopping, and body moving side to side.

February 19 –

Touring for her most recent album, Tove Lo is coming to the Riviera. Dance, or jump, the night away with her upbeat tracks, and scream back the lyrics.

February 20 –

Childhood classics that are buried in the depths of your memories are coming to Concord Music Hall where you can perfectly scream out the lyrics for “Gives You Hell” that you didn’t know you knew. All American Rejects will transport you back to those horrible early 2000s movies with great soundtracks.

February 21 –

In the mood for nostalgia? House of Blues has you covered. Midnight Memories: One Direction Night will surround you with other super fans in a night of screaming and dancing to music you will never forget. Who knows, that person standing next to you might have been at the same OTRA (On The Road Again) show as you. Calling all Directioners, this is your night.

February 22 –

Feel the bass and jump around with Cheat Codes at Concord Music Hall. Their EDM style accompanied by features from some of your favorite artists gives for a night of non-stop movement.

February 27 –

Indie pop band Saint Motel and their feel-good music is coming to The Vic. Let the retro-style music take control and be in the moment. Feel the groove and dance all night.

February 28 –

Coining the term “20GAYTEEN” following the release of her 2018 album, Hayley Kiyoko brings her “sad, but make it fun” style to Aragon Ballroom. Feel the rhythm and jump around.
