In The Harbinger’s sophomore flash poetry effort, Harbinger writer and cartoonist Kimberly Padron has made her triumphant return with three more poems – each of them themed around a selection of three random words. Same as last week, we will be accepting entries for the final trio of words: (uniform, chalk, outline)! The best submissions we get will be presented in the next edition. (major, small, face)
She may be small, but not frail.
In the face of uncertainty, she stands tall.
A major feat, the first of her caliber—
And with a swing of her arm, her ship sets sail.
(invasion, jacket, of)
A jacket that’s three sizes too big for me, and yet I love it nonetheless.
A jacket that isn’t my own, the softness in which I invest.
A jacket I instigate an invasion, for enticing is its warmth—
Many more jackets, may thievery come forth.
(uniform, chalk, outline)
The uniformed man
Takes his chalk, canvas of rock—
An outline of death.
